How people sign up for training texts
Fenix Food Safety texts food workers links to the training their employer assigns, only after they agree.
Food businesses use Fenix Compliance to train their staff in food safety. When a business assigns training, Fenix Food Safety sends each person a link to it by email or text. We text a person only after they agree, in one of the two ways below. Agreeing is never required to join a roster or to keep a job; without texts, training arrives by email or from the manager’s QR code.
The program’s terms are in our SMS Terms, and how we handle phone numbers is in our Privacy Policy.
Opting in
Two ways to agree, both the person’s own
The person checks the box on their employer’s join page
New staff add themselves to their employer’s roster from a join link or QR code their manager shares. The texting box sits beside the phone number, unchecked until they check it, with the program’s terms and privacy policy linked under it.
- Names the sender (Fenix Food Safety) and the employer.
- Says what’s sent and how often: training links and reminders, up to 4 messages per training.
- “Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.”
- “Not required to join.”

The same page, in Spanish
A person can switch the join page to Spanish. The agreement says the same thing in Spanish, and their texts come in Spanish.

Or their manager records it, and the person confirms by replying YES
A manager adding someone by hand can record that the person agreed to texts. We then send one text asking the person to reply YES, and text them no training until they do. Without a YES, they get nothing more by text.
- Only the person’s own YES starts training texts.
- After a STOP, only the person’s own START turns texts back on; their manager can’t.
